Small Groups

The Branches - Up to Age 50

Ask the question and learn together! This group rotates through several topics throughout the year to better understand scripture, Christian tradition, and how to live like Jesus. Whether you’ve been a Christian your whole life or are unsure what to think, this is the place for you.

Rotating leaders. Location: 4th Floor, Choir Practice Room

Coffee in the Atrium - All Ages

Sometimes, you just need a break, some quiet, and time to slow down. We get it. Grab a cup of coffee and have a seat in the Coffee Area, or enjoy the sunshine and mountain view in the Atrium. You’ll find some devotionals and other books to aid in reflection. You can also chat with others while enjoying a slower moment.

Self-Led. Location: 3rd Floor, Atrium

The Redeemers - Age 50-80

Dig in deeper. In this class, you’ll discuss and engage with one another through book and video-based lessons. There’s still so much to learn and ways to grow in faith.

Leader: Peggy Hodges. Location: Third Floor, Assembly Room

The Vintage Class - Age 70+

As the name implies, this class is specially crafted for our seasoned adults and uses the Standard Lesson Commentary.

Leader: Jane Waller. Location: Third Floor, Parlor

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I choose a small group?

Groups gather primarily based on age. Adults can check out any group to see if it fits.

I don’t know much about the Bible. Will I have to talk?

Not at all! You can sit, listen, and learn. You’ll be encouraged to share your thoughts, but it’s not required.

I have questions. Can I ask them?

We believe in asking questions—even challenging ones. Our experienced leaders will help by answering the question or tracking down the answer. Your question may be one that others have as well but are too shy to share. It could even spark the next study the group does.

What should I bring?

If you have a Bible, you can bring that. Some people bring a notebook to jot down notes. We have extra Bibles on hand if you need one, or you can even download the Bible App by YouVersion.

Are your studies based on books of the Bible or more topical?

You’ll find both. Leaders choose the lessons for their classes and share them in the wider RMUMC library of materials.
