Here are answers to questions folks commonly ask their first few times at Rocky Mount United Methodist.

What time does church start?
Church starts officially at 10:55am.
Come for Small Groups as well. We have classes for all ages that start at 10:00am. And there’s coffee!
And, um, where is it again?
Rocky Mount United Methodist Church is located at 35 N. Main Street near beautiful downtown Rocky Mount. At the corner of Claiborne Avenue and N. Main Street, we are right between El Rio and The Vintage Spa.
Is there secure child care?
Yes! Our safe and secure nursery is overseen by one of our staff members, as well as caring volunteers from our congregation. There’s a private area for nursing mothers as well.
Children in the nursery must be signed in and out.
When children’s ministry activities are over, they are kept with the volunteers until their parent or another trusted adults/family member comes to get them.
What about older children?
We love having children be a part of our worship service! Children’s Time is a special time early in the service between them and Pastor Will.
Once concluded, young children can then be walked down to the nursery for the rest of the service.
Older children (mature 4-year-olds through 3rd grade) can attend our children’s church, overseen by volunteers. There they will receive a snack, do a craft, and learn an age-appropriate version of what Pastor Will talks about in his sermon that day. Parents pick up their children up in the Children’s Ministry area.
What do I wear?
Some folks come dressed up in their “Sunday finest”. Some folks come in a nice shirt and jeans.
More than anything, we just want you to come worship with us.
What is the worship service like?
Services follow a traditional format with more modern tunes mixed in. We blend the piano and organ throughout the service, and occasionally have other singers and musicians from the congregation and community join us.
Where do we park? Where should we go in?
The church’s parking lot entrance is on Claiborne Avenue.
From there, easiest way to enter is to climb the stairs near Claiborne Avenue and enter through the doors on N. Main Street.
There’s also an entrance at the back of the building. You’ll find a wheelchair ramp there as well. An elevator is just inside to take you upstairs.
